Hello you, and welcome to inside the mind of an Obsessive Compulsive Designer
For all you newer bloggers, like myself, I put together some helpful tips for your blogging calendar or to maybe convince you that you need one. I didn’t start mine until a month or two ago and the benefits speak for themselves. I highly recommend that you give it a try if you haven’t already!
Schedule Posts In Advance
Keeping a calendar allows you to write down weeks or months in advance of all the great ideas you have noted in the past. Writing them down in your calendar and planning out which days you’d like to post really help you keep consistency which is a major factor in growing your blog.
Note Time To Write & Photograph
Scheduling your actual blog posts is great; but, making sure to also write down when you need to put some time aside to write those blogs or go photograph something helps immensely. I would be lost without planning out every single detail of a blog.
Fluidity
Things change, situations arise. For someone with a bit of OCD, like me, a digital calendar keeps things clean. Whenever I need to move around some blogs or change times on any of my events, all it takes is a couple clicks and my calendar still looks beautiful. I use Google Calendar for my blogging and really like it. (I also have the app on my phone for ease of mobility.)
Space Out Similar Posts
If you don’t want to settle in one niche, like me, using a calendar to make sure you space out fashion, lifestyle, and beauty posts is a must. It’s so easy to see if you have too many of one specific topic being posted one week rather than the other. It’s great to make sure your readers never get bored.
Keep Track Of Larger Milestones
Putting certain events in your calendar (i.e. your blog anniversary, collaborations, holidays, etc.) is a good way to make sure you don’t forget. Setting reminders a couple weeks in advance so you don’t forget is even better. Use your calendar to your advantage to make sure you don’t get any unwanted suprises.
Overall, planning out your posts and schedule for your blog helps you keep everything straight in your mind and keeps your readers happy. I don’t know how I started blogging without a calendar. How do you like to keep your blog calendar? Do you have any tips for other bloggers?
Amazing tips! Scheduling and having a calendar are life saviors! Loved the post xx
