Cheers To Labor Day!

Hello you, and welcome to inside the mind of an Obsessive Compulsive Designer.

If you’re like me and aren’t into basing your labor day party outfit off of the old red, white, and blue – bring the red, white, and blue in your dish! I love this drink because it keeps things nice and fresh while still maintaining the theme of the day. (If you aren’t a fan of raspberries, swap them out for strawberries!) Here’s what you’ll need to make these delicious cocktails this Labor Day.

Ingredients :

1 shots of Vodka (I used pomegranate and it tasted delicious)

Fill the rest of glass with Sprite

Blueberries

Raspberries

Plus, whatever leftovers you have of the fruit can be used easily into these cute yummy skewers. (I just added marshmallows but you can use white chocolate too!)

Strawberry-Lemon Sangria Recipe

Hello you, and welcome to inside the mind of an Obsessive Compulsive Designer.

With the holiday weekend upon us, and with the gorgeous weather we are supposed to have (knock on wood), I think it’s a perfect time to share one of my new favorite summer drink recipes. Don’t get me wrong, sangria is great no matter what but this recipe knocks all others out of the water. Plus, one of the other things that is great about sangria is the fact you can prep a large batch of this the night before. Not having to leave the party to go mix up another drink is always a plus in my book. These light and delicious drinks will make a great Labor Day drink for your party or just for lounging around in the backyard or poolside. Remember to drink responsibly because these yummy drinks will sneak up on you! 😉

Ingredients :

1 bottle of wine (I like to use Primo Amore Moscato because it’s carbonated and eliminates the need to add a soda water for that carbonation kick.)

1 cup of rum

2 lemons

1 apple

2 cups of strawberries

Directions : Slice the lemons and strawberries and add to a pitcher. Core and dice the apple and add to the pitcher. Pour in your alcohol and let the mixture sit for a few hours so the fruit has time to absorb the alcohol.

Yup, it’s really that easy. If you’re entertaining a larger crowd, you may need to double the ingredients (this recipe makes about 6-8 glasses). And feel free to add more fruit, because that is honestly my favorite part! I’ve also found that, if it’s a warm day, adding some frozen strawberries helps drinks keep cool without watering them down. I hope you all enjoy this drink as much as I do. So enjoy and drink responsibly!
