Another great read for those out there looking to take control of your skin. I know, personally, I have always struggled to keep up with my skin instead of controlling it. I’m so much happier with my skin now than even a couple years ago. Crazy what a few changes can do!

Easy Breezy Summer Look – OOTD

Cardigan (similar) : Forever 21   |  Shorts : Charlotte Russe  |  Shoes  : Charlotte Russe  |

|  Tank Top : H&M  |

Hello you, and welcome to inside the mind of an Obsessive Compulsive Designer.

Happy hump day everyone! I hope you’re all doing well and hope your week is flying by as fast as mine is! I put this outfit together for a little get together this past weekend and just had to share it with you all. I love this cardigan SO much. I try and get as much wear out of it as I possibly can (with the bold pattern, it gets quite difficult). It’s such a light piece that I don’t mind wearing it in the hotter months but it’s a nice change of pace from just the everyday tanks and tees. I paired it with this simple black tank and ripped denim shorts. The shorts certainly help the cardigan seem more summer appropriate and make the look more casual. You could definitely mix your shoe selection up with this outfit. I opted for these heeled booties to dress it up a bit; but, this outfit will look just as good with a decorative sandal as well. This was absolutely perfect for a fun night out with friends!

Beach-side Drinks

Top (similar) : Forever 21   |  Shorts : Charlotte Russe  |  Shoes  : Poshmark  |

Hello you, and welcome to inside the mind of an Obsessive Compulsive Designer.

Really wish I could be spending this Memorial Day weekend enjoying drinks out over the open ocean but these memories will have to suffice! I could think of no better outfit for exploring the resort than an off the shoulder cropped top and some denim shorts. Both pieces allow you to wear your swimsuit inconspicuously underneath without taking away from the outfit. I love this top and it has been in my wardrobe arsenal for years. It was originally from Victoria’s Secret and it has held up through the years beautifully. I’ll link a similar one in this post.

Leave me a comment below letting me know if you have a favorite outfit to hide your swimsuit!

Working Girl Outfits x Mallory Mileham

Hello you, and welcome to inside the mind of an Obsessive Compulsive Designer.

I’m so happy to announce my first collab ever on my blog today! I’ve teamed up with Mallory Mileham to show you a few working girl outfits that are perfect to transition us into the warmer seasons. I’m showing you three looks here today and Mallory will show you her three outfits over on her YouTube channel. Be sure to click here and watch her video afterwards. That girl has some serious style! While you’re on her channel, make sure to check out some of her other fashion, fitness, and lifestyle videos as well!

Before we get into the outfits, I just wanted to announce that today will kick off a week-long series I’m going to be doing all centered around the working girl! With graduation season upon us, I thought it would be the perfect time to offer some tips and tricks to landing your dream job and everything along the way. All you working girls be sure to subscribe to be updated with the next installment!

|  Skirt  : New York & Company  |  Tank Top  : Nordstrom Rack  |

| Heels  : Qupid  |

I wanted to start off with your typical corporate outfit except with a giant pop of color. When working in a corporate environment, I found myself struggling to incorporate my own personality to my fashion. Fashion is a large part of my life and personal expression so I like to add twists on the usual formal corporate attire!

|  Joggers  : Walmart  |  Tank Top  : Forever 21  |  Blazer  : Charlotte Russe  |

|  Heels  : Forever 21  |  Necklace  : Old Navy  |  Purse  : Target  |

| Sunglasses  : Ray-Ban  |

I love this outfit because it can really be used in a corporate environment to break up the monotony of the basic black trouser. One of the troubles I found when working in a corporate setting, was the boring wardrobe that goes along with the job. I really had to stretch my imagination as to other outfits that could work within the corporate dress code. I love these pants for their fun pattern and shape. Definitely one of my more favorite pieces in my wardrobe!

|  Blouse  : Forever 21  |  Jeans  : Charlotte Russe  |  Heels  : Macy’s  |

|  Necklace  : Target  |

This is a great options for you girls who don’t quite work in a corporate attire. This outfit can be super casual or dressed up a bit with a nice pair of heels and formal jacket, which is what I did here. I love the simplicity of this look. It really doesn’t take any effort to put together and yet looks like you really put the time into it.

Leave me a comment below and tell me which outfit was your favorite. Also, be sure to jump on over to Mallory’s channel and tell her which of her outfits you love best!

Nights In Navy

| Dress : Z Supply   |  Boots : Charlotte Russe  |

|  Jacket  : Charlotte Russe  |

Hello you, and welcome to inside the mind of an Obsessive Compulsive Designer.

Spring in the Midwest is always a gamble on weather. I always find it the hardest weather transition of the year for some reason. For nights out on the town, it’s always difficult to gauge what amount of layers will suffice. That’s why I love this combination. The over the knee boots let me wear a dress without exposing too much leg (as freshly shaved legs are no friend to cold weather). This dress is actually sleeveless so I can wear my lightweight leather jacket without sweating to death. This dress is amazing. The material is so comfortable and I love the draped neckline. It’s no secret that I’ve been obsessing over navy lately so this dress is a total package for me (sadly it’s no longer available in this color). The color is amazing, soft fabric, amazing shape (tight enough to show curves but loose enough to not show any unwanted curves). AMAZING!

Leave a comment down below and let me know how you dress for the winter-spring transition!

Cocktails Taste Better On Rooftops

| Body Suit (similar) : Charlotte Russe   |  Jeans : Charlotte Russe  |

|  Jacket  : Charlotte Russe  |  Necklace  : Forever 21  |Shoes  : Charlotte Russe  |

Hello you, and welcome to inside the mind of an Obsessive Compulsive Designer

We took a work ladies night out to celebrate a great first quarter and did it in the only acceptable fashion: rooftop cocktails. I’ve thoroughly missed drinking outdoors. I’m so over this long winter and ready for some sunshine! However, high powered heaters make rooftops a little more tolerable! It was a wonderful time getting to get to know all my coworkers more outside of the office and the view was fantastic. This lovely red cocktail is called “The Traveler” and OMG it was so good! Their food was just as amazing and such a relaxed atmosphere. I would’ve never considered going out to a hotel’s restaurant/bar but I’m so glad we tried it. Great start to the weekend!

Date Night Blush OOTD

Body Suit : Charlotte Russe   |  Jeans : Charlotte Russe  |  Shoes  : Macy’s  |

|  Bralette  : Target  |  Coat  : Charlotte Russe  |

Hello you, and welcome to inside the mind of an Obsessive Compulsive Designer

Last week, my Valentine’s night consisted of hubby making me dinner and just spending some quality time together. (Which we do every night, but tonight I got flowers as well!) Since we were doing just a simple night in, we decided the weekend after Valentine ’s Day we wanted to go out and have a fun adventure together to a place we’d never been before. We went to a local bakery and ordered some really yummy looking treats! Both of these fun date ideas can be found in my Valentine’s Day On A Budget post.

For our casual little day adventure, I decided to wear this adorable pink bodysuit and paired it with this lacey bralette number. I used these cute white heels to dress up the simple light wash jean and topped the whole look off with my favorite white trench coat. I love this coat and it is SO much warmer than it looks! (Also, these heels were my wedding heels. I told you I wanted shoes that I could utilize after the big day!)

Comment below what your Valentine’s Day consisted of. I’d love to hear from you!

Comfy Christmas Lounge-wear OOTD

Sweatshirt : Victoria’s Secret (similar)  |  Leggings : Charlotte Russe  |  Shoes  : Charlotte Russe  |

Hello you, and welcome to inside the mind of an Obsessive Compulsive Designer

Yes, you read that right. Finally the last Christmas party of 2016 has come and past! This last party was just a smaller gathering between family members so luckily I could get away with not dressing up too much. These over the knee boots are a brand new purchase for me and I’m obsessed with them. I decided to pair them with my olive leggings (incorporating Christmas the most I can in January) and an oversized sweatshirt from Victoria’s Secret. This made for an extremely cozy party outfit! It seems like this trend of over the knee boots and oversized jackets/sweatshirts is everywhere nowadays. I’m loving it! If it wasn’t the dead of winter and I had a longer sweatshirt I definitely could’ve gotten away without the leggings. Be on the lookout for more outfit posts coming soon with these boots!

Wedding Wednesday – Picking The Perfect Bridesmaid Dresses

Hello you, and welcome to inside the mind of an Obsessive Compulsive Designer

Yes, it is your day, but don’t forget that your ladies said yes to being a part of it. Make sure they look just as great as you do! Picking a great choice for them will ultimately make your wedding pictures turn out so much better with a cohesive look. Be conscious and considerate when picking out your girl’s dresses by following a few important guidelines.

Style

The first and one of the most important things to consider when selecting your ladies’ dresses is the style. Making sure that their style coincides with your dress is key to making your wedding party look flawless. If you pick a tight lace dress and then dress your girls in a heap on tulle, that’s not going to look harmonious on your big day. If you pick that tight lace dress, put your girls in a dress with some lace detail. If your dress is strapless, putting your ladies in a strapless might look like a great fit. Find something about your dress that stands out and that can easily be translated to your girl’s dresses.

Form

If the aspect of your dress you’d like to translate to your ladies’ dresses is something to do with the form, be sure to check that all your girls feel comfortable and can pull off that form. If you’ve got some busty bridesmaids, maybe strapless dresses aren’t such a good idea. No one wants to pull up their dress every five minutes and you don’t want that to see that in every picture either! Talk to your girl’s and get their thoughts! If you have some that don’t feel comfortable with a skin tight or a short dress, definitely take their opinions into consideration. It’s your day but you already have your dream dress. Let them be comfortable for your big day!

Color

Obviously take into consideration the color! That’s the major one everyone will notice first! If you’re letting your girls go pick out their own dress and just giving them a color requirement, you may want to think twice. There are so many different shades of a single color and don’t want to find out on your big day that the bridesmaid’s dresses don’t match!

Details

Now to the fun part, all the gorgeous details! Give your girls a fun belt that is similar to yours, add a simple cover up with the same lace that your dress is made of, add a jewel incrusted pendant with your wedding colors to add a special pop to their dresses.

Whatever you decide on, make sure you and your girls love it. It’s going to be a much happier process and a much happier day if you are all comfortable and happy! Happy wedding planning to you all!
